Day Eleven, 25 December 09

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse ... ya right, we were all awake really late.

We went to bed and when I awoke there were candy canes on the Christmas tree, and stockings all over the kitchen. Gifts were given, tears were shed, and memories were made. Well, maybe no tears were shed, but I did want to cry when I saw my super cute outfit my parents got me.

Everyone got lots of presents and lots of candy. Later on in the day we ate a very normal English dinner with roast potatoes and turkey. we also cracked Christmas crackers, they turned out perfect, with the most dodgy presents ever. Later that night we went and looked at Christmas lights along the road.

Over all it was quite the nice Christmas.

God bless us everyone.

The Tenth Day - 24 December 09

Today we explored parts of the city of Southampton. Southampton is very important to our family as this is where my Mum's family sailed from in February 1960 when they immigrated to Australia in search of better opportunities, and it only cost 20 British pounds for the entire family to leave Great Britain.

Dad has always had a "thing" for the R.M.S Titanic, and since she sailed from Southampton, he wanted to see anything he could connected to the ship. So, we looked on line and discovered there was a memorial to the ship's Engineer Officers who died keeping the ship powered so the radio operators could continue to send out the CQD, later known as SOS.

The Memorial to the Titanic's Engineer Officers sits in a corner of East Park in Southampton. The inscription on the memorial reads, "Greater love hath no man than this. That a man lay down his life for his friends. To the memory of the Engineer Officers of the R.M.S. Titanic, who showed their high conception of duty and their heroism by remaining at their posts 15 April 1912. Erected by their fellow engineers and friends on 22nd April 1914."

We also saw a huge memorial that was dedicated to the soldiers who had died from Southampton during the First World War, after World War II, the city added small plaques to memorialize the men, women and children who had died during that war too.

At the base of the memorial are bouquets of Poppies, which Dad said is used as a flower of remembrance for the fallen soldiers of the Great War, or World War I. It is a beautiful memorial, but it's sad to think about all those people who died in the war.

We explored more than park however, we also explored the medieval wall that used to protect Southampton, and wandered through the street vendors too. The old walls were amazing. They are so huge! I can't imagine trying to fight on them. And it's so cool that some of them are still here more than 400 years after they were built!

The Ninth Day - 23 December 09

Today we went in the morning and hunted for some stores where we could eat at, or somehow get food. Our cousin Krystal was at the Youth Hostel with us, and we walked around London when almost no one was out. We went back to the hostel, and while mom and Krystal went walking around to find Dad, Robert and Nate, Hannah got to find breakfast.

They found them, and we stored all of our bags at the Youth Hostel, and then we headed into the heart of London.

First stop. The Tower of London. The site of many executions and murders. We saw where the king slept, and where two royal brothers were murdered, and their bones buried under the stairs. We also saw many of the former king's and queen's crowns, scepters and even their dishes. Henry VIII's armor was really cool. We toured through Tower Hill, stopped for lunch and then it was off to the next stop on our self-designed, self-walking, self-seeking tour. Tower bridge.

That's my Australian cousin Krystal, my brother Nate, Me, and my Dad all looking at the River Thames, with the Tower Bridge in the background.

Isn't it cool?

Not a Cyberman in sight...

Or, are there?

The Eighth Day - 22 December 09

As you can see, I haven't posted in a while, but ya, we went to London today, and got to see, and smell, the sights of London.

It is so cool to be here during the Christmas season!

I feel like I can reach and just hold history. It is truly wonderful!

We went souvenir shopping and walked around for hours. It was just Mum and I.

So, cheers!

Merry Christmas!

The Second Day - 16 December 2009

Today we went walking around the town a Barnsley.

Hannah went shopping, and she got new clothes, while Mum and Uncle David were in it for the ride.

That is all we did today, except on our way home from shopping we saw a Nativity Scene. It was so beautiful, and it really makes you realize what the Christmas season is all about.

The accents are so cool!

Well, the-the-the-that's all folks!

The Third Day - 17 December 09

Today we went to the city of Leeds. It was very nice.

It was snowing, and there were Christmas lights hanging all around the city.

We went into lots of stores and really got a feel for the fashion sense, and looks, of the British people.

The train ride to Leeds was really nice. It only took an hour, which is good.

We got to hang out and we ate tea at a nice little sub restaurant.

Hannah got a warm hat!

The Fourth Day - 18 December 09

Today, was very chilly outside. It snowed the previous night, which was nice!

We went into the downtown area of Barnsley, and we walked around lots of stores and went shopping again!

We got Christmas presents and enjoyed the sounds of the city.

It was a very nice day outside, but slippery and cold.

First Day - 15 December 09

Today we, Momma Bundy and Baby Bundy, arrived safely in Great Britain.

It was a tiring journey, but it was definitely worth it.

Poor Hannah got sick on the plane, because she had a migraine, so she ended up throwing up on the plane, otherwise, the flight was really good. We watched movies the whole time, but we did get to nap for a while.....

Later, once we had landed, our adventure continued as we went to Cheshire we saw the leaning steeple church.

Which was pretty cool!

Hannah of course wants to go shopping tomorrow for clothes in the city of Barnsley, where the Bundy crew of two is currently located.

We also went to see the Bolsover Castle, it was beautiful and green. we settled down at the end of the day eating a very nice supper and going to sleep soon.

The Bundy crew of two feels dead tired, and they are.

(Pictured here in Cheshire, in front of the leaning steeple church, is Hannah - a.k.a. Baby Bundy - and her Auntie Christine from Australia...

Baby Bundy

Baby Bundy is much better, just to let you know, she is energetic and tired.

Farewell!
